Adriana Rejc Buhovac

Adriana Rejc Buhovac is presently Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana. She is a lecturer in Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Management, and Performance Management at both Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. An expert in the design and implementation of performance measurement and evaluation systems, Dr. Rejc Buhovac is the co-author of numerous academic and professional papers including “Solving the Sustainability Implementation Challenge”, “Why Nike Kicks Butt in Sustainability”, “Managing Social, Environmental, and Financial Performance Simultaneously: What Can We Learn from Corporate Best Practices?”, and ”What’s in IT for You and Your Company?”. With Marc J. Epstein, Dr. Rejc Buhovac coauthored four recent Management Accounting Guidelines for CMA Canada and the AICPA, New York. In addition to her research on the topic, Dr. Rejc Buhovac has worked with several organizations on the evaluation of performance of the human resources function, the IT function, and on the implementation of strategic performance measurement systems.

Marc J. Epstein

Marc J. Epstein is Distinguished Research Professor of Management at Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining Rice, Dr. Epstein was a professor at Stanford Business School, Harvard Business School, and INSEAD (European Institute of Business Administration). In both academic research and managerial practice, Dr. Epstein is considered one of the global leaders in the areas of innovation, sustainability, governance, performance measurement and accountability in both corporations and not-for-profit organizations.

Dr. Epstein has extensive academic and practical experience in the implementation of corporate strategies and the development of performance metrics for use in these implementations. He has extensive industry experience and has been a senior consultant to leading corporations and governments throughout the world for over 25 years. In many recent articles and books Epstein shows how the use of new strategic management systems can help companies focus strategy, link to performance metrics, and drive improved performance in organizations.

He has focused and published extensively on sustainability and corporate social responsibility for most of his career and was in at the beginning of the development of the corporate social audit and the measurement of corporate social, environmental, and economic impacts. In 2008, he published ‘Making Sustainability Work: Best Practices in Managing and Measuring Corporate Social, Environmental, and Economic Impacts’ and revised it in 2014 together with Adriana Rejc Buhovac (‘Making Sustainability Work: Best Practices in Managing and Measuring Corporate Social, Environmental, and Economic Impacts – Second Edition’ (2014, Greenleaf Publishing Ltd.; Berrett-Koehler Publishers Inc.).

Alenka Repič is the founder and creative director of Slovenian company KAAITA, established in 2004.

In 2014, Alenka is all about developing her brand and expanding it to foreign markets. KAAITA products are internationally recognized and have a special place among the finest sustainable products. KAAITA products and works have been included in various international exhibitions, such as BIO 22 and published in international publications, dedicated to good sustainable practices.

At KAAITA Alenka has also been doing consulting and providing services for clients, such as Si.mobil, Siemens, BTC, Urban Planning Institute of Ljubljana and Volčji Potok Arboretum. In many cases these services materialized in products, which motivated the target audience for a more sustainable way of life.

KAAITA also developed Re.think corporate responsibility programme for the company Si.mobil, for which it received many national and international awards, one of them being the prestigious Gold Quill Award.

After graduating from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, Alenka worked at Pristop (communication agency) and Agencija 41 (marketing communications agency). She was also responsible for marketing and public relations at Volčji Potok Arboretum, the largest and most popular botanical garden in Slovenia.
