CHINESE LANGUAGE COURSES

It is still possible to apply for the 40 hour Beginners course Basic 1, part one. Applications are open until Monday, November 4th Here


We offer Chinese Language Courses, which contain 40 or 60 hours in one semester. All levels have limited seats in order to ensure good quality of teaching and learning. The price of our 40 hour courses is 150 EUR (including VAT). For students the price is 50 EUR (including VAT). The price of our 60 hour courses is 180 EUR (including VAT). For students the price is 80 EUR (including VAT).

Our course levels are standardized after the international language examination HSK or "Hanyu shuiping kaoshi" which is the only official standardized Chinese language examination of the People's Republic of China for foreigners.

BEGINNERS COURSE BASIC 1, PART 1

  • 40 hours course
  • The course takes place 2 school hours every time, twice per week

Content:

The 40 hours Beginner basic 1 part 1 is open to all of those who are interested in the Chinese language and culture, but likely haven’t yet studied it.Students, who want to apply to this course, do not need to take the placement test.

Having obtained the certificates of HSK and HSKK (any level), the students who don't hold X1 or X2 visa in the passport are able to apply for the four-week study of Chinese language + homestay experience or four-week study of cultural courses (traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji) or one semester study of Chinese cultural courses (traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji) in China through CI scholarship.

The 60 hours course Beginner 1 is open to all of those who are interested in the Chinese language and culture, but likely haven’t yet studied it. Students, who want to apply to this course, do not need to take the placement test.

With the study of 60 hours, students should be able to easily pass the exam HSK2 and for most of the students, it is also the appropriate time to take the HSKK primary level test.

Having obtained the certificates of HSK and HSKK (any level), the students who don't hold X1 or X2 visa in the passport are able to apply for the four-week study of Chinese language + homestay experience or four-week study of cultural courses (traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji) or one semester study of Chinese cultural courses (traditional Chinese medicine, Taiji) in China through CI scholarship.

The course Beginner 3 is suitable for all those students who have passed the exam HSK2 or have knowledge equivalent to the 120-140 hours study at the CI Ljubljana..Students, who do not have the corresponding certificates in order to apply to Beginners course 3, have to take the placement test.

After the study of the level Beginner 3 level, all those students who study well are able to pass the HSK3. Most of the students are supposed to do a very good job at the HSKK primary level, and are also able to pass the HSKK intermediate level.

The students, who have no prior experience of studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 180 scores and the HSKK (any level) score report, apply for the one-semester study of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, or Chinese language and literature, or Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 210 scores, apply for one year study of Chinese language in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 270 scores and the HSKK (any level) score report, apply for one year study of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages in China through CI scholarship.


  • BEGINNERS COURSE 4

Schedule: Tuesday: 17:00-18:30, Thursday: 17:00-18:30

The course Beginner 4 is suitable for those students who have passed the exam HSK3 or who have had around 180-200 of hours of study of the Chinese language and culture at the CI Ljubljana.Students, who do not have the corresponding certificates in order to apply to Beginners course 4, have to take the placement test.

After the study of the course at Beginner 4 level the students are usually capable of passing the HSK3 exam. Meanwhile, the students are encouraged to take the HSKK intermediate level test.

The students, who have no prior experience of studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 180 scores and the HSKK (any level) score report, apply for the one-semester study of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, or Chinese language and literature, or Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 210 scores, apply for one year study of Chinese language in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK3 certificate with at least 270 scores and the HSKK (any level) score report, apply for one year study of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages in China through CI scholarship.


  • INTERMEDIATE COURSE 1

Schedule: Monday: 18:45-20:15,Wednesday: 18:45-20:15

Content:

The course Intermediate 1 is open to those who have had around 240-260 hours of the study of Chinese at the CI Ljubljana, or who have the equivalent knowledge.Students, who do not have the corresponding certificates in order to apply to Intermediate course 1, have to take the placement test.

After the study of the course of the Intermediate 1, students are encouraged to try the test HSK4. They are supposed to be successful at the test HSKK - intermediate level.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK4 certificate with at least 180 scores and the HSKK intermediate level certificate with at least 60 scores, are able to apply for one year study of Chinese language and literature, or Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who hold a high school diploma and obtain the HSK4 certificate with at least 210 scores and the HSKK intermediate level certificate with at least 60 scores, are able to apply for CI Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL).


  • INTERMEDIATE COURSE 2

Content:

The course Intermediate 2 is open to those who have had at least 300-320 hours of study of Chinese in previous years or those who have equivalent knowledge. (Or those who have passed the test HSK3). Students, who do not have the corresponding certificates in order to apply to Intermediate course 2, have to take the placement test.

After the end of the study at the level Intermediate 2, students are expected to pass the HSK 4 as well as the HSKK intermediate level.

The students, who are not studying in China can, by obtaining the HSK4 certificate with at least 180 scores and the HSKK intermediate level certificate with at least 60 scores, are able to apply for one year study of Chinese language and literature, or Chinese history, or Chinese philosophy in China through CI scholarship.

The students, who hold a high school diploma and obtain the HSK4 certificate with at least 210 scores and the HSKK intermediate level certificate with at least 60 scores, are able to apply for CI Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL).


  • HIGHER LEVELS

The schedules will be published later, in case that enough applicants apply.

The content of higher levels will be tailored to the levels of applicants. Necessary adaptation will be conducted in accordance to the diversities of applicants. At least three applicants form a group; otherwise individual classes will be suggested to applicants.

Introduction: The higher levels courses are open to the students who have passed the HSK4 and who are expected to freely express themselves in Chinese and have had at least 360-380 hours of the study of Chinese in CI Ljubljana, or who have equivalent knowledge.

BUSINESS CHINESE PROGRAM

Introduction:Business Chinese Program aims to those who want to get familiar with working environment as well as professional terms in Business. Lectures will be conducted mainly in Chinese, and focus more on oral Chinese as well as listening. The class activities will be designed based on real practice and context. Related business culture will also be lectured.

Requirement: Participants are required to have already had at least 90 to 120 hours study of basics of Chinese, or at least passed HSK2 and HSKK primary level lest.

Note: With the BCT exam, students from CI Ljubljana can also apply for the scholarship studying in China.

INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS CHINESE AND CULTURE


We offer Individual Business Chinese and Culture to individuals or intensive groups (2-5) from business community. All the content will be tailor-made to your time, needs and requirements, including:

  • Language training based on your needs
  • Presentation of Chinese culture values, Chinese mindset, Chinese life etc.
  • Seminars on business negotiations, cross-culture management, Chinese economics etc.

INDIVIDUAL HOURS OF GENERAL CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

Individual Chinese program is recommended to those who meet following criteria:

  1. Don’t want to learn any Chinese characters (only focus on oral Chinese)
  2. Can’t follow the fixed group study schedule
  3. Have special requirement on learning Chinese and culture
