Economic Policies of the EU at the SEB LU, Ljubljana; Slovenia; Masters level (in Slovene and in English)

The following topics are being addressed:

  • Optimal currency area theory
  • Evolution of monetary and fiscal policy of the EU
  • Economic governance of the EU prior to the crisis (Stability and Growth Pact)
  • EU / euro are crisis and its implications on the integration’s economic governance
  • Two segments of the post-crisis economic governance of the EU
  • Drastically changed crisis prevention mechanism (European semester, “six pack”, “two pack”, “fiscal compact”, banking union
  • Newly introduced crisis management mechanism (EFSF, ESM)

The course is on the program in the autumn semester
