Curriculum Vitae
Dušan Mramor is Full Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He was also Recurring Visiting Professor at the Central European University, Budapest, and Research Associate and Visiting Scholar at the School of Business, Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. Most of his research is in the broad area of transition finance and economics, more specifically in Financial Markets, Financial Analysis, Corporate Finance, Business Valuation, and Fiscal and Monetary Policy. He is the author of three books on Corporate Finance, editor of several books on Capital Markets and Corporate Finance, and author or co-author of more than 30 larger research studies. His articles were published mainly in international journals and books focusing on topics in transition finance and economics, but also in journals such as Expert Systems with Applications, Journal of Business Venturing, and International Review of Financial Analysis. He was vice president of European Finance Association (EFA), is currently a member of the editorial board of Economic and Business Review and has been invited to give numerous lectures at the universities and government institutions in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Until August 2014, he was Vice-president of the board of European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM).Dr. Mramor had an active role in Slovenian transition process, and in addressing deep economic crisis of 2008-2014, serving as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia twice (2002 - 2004 and 2014 - 2016). For his role in Slovenia's crises management he was awarded the title "Europe Finance Minister of the year 2016" by The Banker. He also served as the member of the council of the National Bank of Slovenia, member of the Admission Board of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Securities Market Agency of Slovenia, advisor to the Minister of Finance, member of the Strategic Economic Council of the Prime Minister of Slovenia, vice chairman of Development Committee of the Prime Minister of Slovenia and member of the Advisory Board of the President of Slovenia. He was also a member of the supervisory board of Abanka, vice president of the board of directors of SKB bank, World Bank consultant, a member of the Slovenian Accounting Standards Board, consultant to the government of Slovenia and to a number of firms and banks.In the field of higher education he was the Dean of Faculty of Economics (2007-2013), the Chairman of the Board of University of Ljubljana (2000-2002 and 2009-2013), and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics (1997-2001). Internationally he served as a member of Initial Accreditation Committee and European Advisory Committee of AACSB, member of the International Advisory Board of Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics and member of the International Advisory Board of Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki. He was also chairman or member of the peer review teams for EQUIS or AACSB accreditations and as a mentor to schools seeking initial AACSB accreditation. For his contribution to the quality of higher education in business and economics he was in 2020 awarded honorary title "EFMD Fellow" by the European Foundation for Management Development.
