Aims of the course

The course aims to:
• Improve students’ knowledge of business and economics terminology in Italian
• Introduce presentation techniques and improve students’ public speaking skills
• Develop and improve students' reading and listening comprehension and written and oral communication
• Encourage students to engage in critical thinking and actively participate in various discussions in Italian

Course syllabus

The course topics include education, public speaking, employment, corporate strategy and structure, financial reporting, finance raising, international trade, marketing, building and maintaining business relationships, communication in various business situations (formal and informal discussions, presentations, telephoning, and written communication). Special attention is given to business and economic terminology, written communication (e.g. personal and company profiles, emails, covering letters and CVs, business correspondence), more complex grammatical structures, and reading and listening comprehension.
