Managerial Performance Evaluation and Remuneration

Aims of the course

The student should express the ability to discover and describe a management performance evaluation issue, present a convincing and fundamental analysis and propose a set of practical and clear conclusions or recommendations.

Course syllabus

Management performance evaluation is an integral part of any organization’s pursuit of its strategies. Many organizational problems arise because of the failure of individuals to appreciate the nuances and issues in the way in which the
management performance evaluation system is designed, and used. This is true both of the user and the designer (often the accountant). This course will enable participants to provide informed advice about on design, implementation and use of management performance evaluation systems. You will be able to assess whether a system is appropriate in the circumstances, and to challenge preconceived notions about how things should be measured. This means that the course emphasizes the importance of conceptual understanding of management performance evaluation problems.
