Dear international student, welcome to the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana (FELU).

We are very pleased you chose the FELU as your destination for studying abroad. This website provides you with a summary of the key information you may need before coming to Slovenia and useful information for your stay after arriving to Ljubljana.

At the FELU we have been working very hard in the last few years to internationalize all of its activities. In line with school reorganisation and modernisation, in 2006 FELU was awarded with EQUIS accreditation which is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.

In autumn 2005 we changed our 4+1 study programmes into 3+2 programmes in line with the Bologna Declaration and the prevailing pattern of business studies in Europe. We now offer around 30 undergraduate courses and graduate courses from two graduate programmes delivered in English.

Since 1999 we have succeeded in increasing the number of incoming foreign students from just few to more than 200 per study year. The number of outgoing Slovenian students reveals similar progress. We exchange students through more than 130 bilateral agreements with schools around Europe, in Canada, the USA, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Australia.

We assure you will enjoy your stay in Ljubljana as it is a student-flavoured city, in the middle of Slovenia with its abundant natural beauty, the close vicinity of attractive neighbouring countries. You will also benefit from the active student organisation that is responsible for an interesting social programme and the good catering services available to students.
