Trends, Quality and Digitalisation

As trends (in higher education) evolve, building strategic partnerships with other institutions has become crucial for staying competitive and enhancing academic offerings. Obtaining international accreditation(s) has become one of the key goals, as institutions seek to meet global standards of excellence. Alongside these developments, digitalization plays a key role in transforming how institutions collaborate, manage resources, and deliver quality education. By embracing these trends—partnering with global institution, pursuing international recognition, and leveraging digital tools—institutions can strengthen their impact, improve educational quality, and better prepare students for the future.

Target group: UL SEB Partner Institutions
Staff of International/Mobility offices
Staff working on International Accreditations

Main objectives: Peer learning, networking, knowledge transfer and sharing of experiences and best practices among colleagues.

Size: up to 32 participants
max. 2 participants from same institution / 16 participants per track
Mixing session/workshops from different tracks is not possible.

Programme Fee: 200 EUR/participant
Fee includes: Sessions/Workshops, Ljubljana Bus pass, Coffee breaks, Lunch, Ljubljana City Tour, Trip to Bled and Radovljica.

Making sense of nonsense

  • Highlighting the time-consuming tasks and processes in the IRO that, while seemingly necessary, often feel inefficient or illogical. These could include dealing with outdated paperwork, complex reporting, or responding to repetitive queries that could easily be automated. Despite their lack of real value, these tasks consume valuable time and energy, yet IRO staff continue to handle them to maintain compliance, meet deadlines, or fulfill institutional expectations.
