Curriculum Vitae
Ales Pustovrh, PhD, is employed as an assistant professor with a PhD at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He is involved in research, educational and support activities of the Faculty, mostly in economics and entrepreneurship departments. He is also the co-founder and program manager at ABC accelerator, where his responsibilities lie in the development of the startup acceleration program. He also owns a market research company that is primarily involved in research and consulting to entrepreneurs as well as collaboration with entrepreneurship support institutions. He is also a freelance contributor of The Economist Intelligence Unit and the Eastern European Construction Forecasting Association (EECFA).In the past, he was employed as a researcher of innovation, innovation policies and innovation activities in 8 countries of the Adriatic region at the Universita degli studi di Trieste, Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche ‘Bruno de Finetti’ (DEAMS). Additionally, he was also employed as a senior researcher at the Laboratory for Open Innovation Systems at COBIK - Center of Excellence for Biosensors, Instrumentation and process Control. He was one of the founders and leaders of the COINVEST project here, a specialized platform for the networking and collaboration of high-tech entrepreneurs with investors. In December 2014, he was awarded the title of PhD in Economics for successful defence of his dissertation titled 'Open innovation and its effects on the growth strategies of small and medium-sized companies'.Dr. Pustovrh is married and has two children. Besides his native Slovene language he is proficient in three other languages and has basic skills in another two languages. In his free time, he enjoys mountaineering, skiing and traveling.
