Janez Prašnikar, PhD

Curriculum Vitae

Janez Prašnikar (PhD) is a full professor of Economics, member of the Senate, Executive Director of the Institute for South-East Europe and Director of the Business and Organisation full-time IMB programme at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He is a research associate and visiting scholar at the University of Michigan and CEPR, London. He has been involved in several research projects and has published a number of papers and books relating to the economics of transition, corporate restructuring, and corporate governance. He is a member of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals. He is a former Vice-Dean for Research at the FELU in the period of 1997–2007. He is also a chair of the Programme Committee of the annual Portorož Business Conference. He served as a consultant of the Slovenian and Montenegro government and many internationally recognised firms (Kolektor, Gorenje, Mercator etc). He has served as a president or member of the Supervisory Boards in numerous Slovenian companies.
