Curriculum Vitae
Melita Balas Rant is an assistant professor of management and organization at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. There she teaches courses on Organizational Analysis and Design, Building Leadership Capacity and Strategic Leadership and Accountability. Melita also serves as an academic director at the Centre for Business Excellence, where she runs directorship function over FELU MBA program, and selected business academies (sales, leadership etc.). In addition to the directorship role of CBU she also serves as a consultant to companies on their management and business development needs and design of corresponding business education programs. Last but not least she has worked closely and consulted on strategic leadership issues many growing, highly innovative and internationalized CEE companies like Tajfun, Dok-Ing, Optotek etc. In the past she also worked on several consulting project for the public sector (cultural area, military area). mainly on the strategic and organizational changes and challenges and leadership practices. In the period 2008-2011, she was a director of the Executive MBA at the IEDC-Bled School of Management, where she also played a role of the IEDC-CEEMAN Research Coordinator. In this role she led and coordinated the Hidden Champion’s research project on behalf of CEEMAN and IEDC. For the executives she teaches Personal Development, Leadership Skills, Strategic Sales, Strategic leadership and Sustainability.
