Curriculum Vitae
Nevenka Hrovatin is professor of economics at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (SEB LU). Since 2004 she has been leading the research group "Sustainable Competitiveness of the Slovenian Economy in European and Global Perspective", funded by the Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia. Her research focuses on the economics of the public sector, utilities and, more recently, energy efficiency. She has published her work in several established peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Energy policy, Journal of productivity analysis, Energy and Buildings, Energy Research and Social Science, Telecommunications Policy). She has received several research awards, e.g. from the Slovenian Research Agency, University of Ljubljana and SEB LU. She has been actively working for International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE), 2018-2019 as IAEE Council Member and 2019 as General Conference Chair and International Programme Committee Chair of the 16th IAEE European Energy Conference in Ljubljana. She was also a programme committee member of several IAEE and other international conferences. As Vice-President she has also been actively involved in the work of SAEE (Slovenian Association of Energy Economics - the national affiliate of IAEE and the section of Energy Chamber of Slovenia). During her academic career she has carried out several research and consultancy projects for the Slovenian Electricity and Gas Regulatory Authority Energy Agency, utilities (gas and electricity), the Government of Slovenia and the City of Ljubljana. She was also a member (chair) of supervisory boards of several Slovenian companies and institutions, including Energy Council of Slovenian Prime Minister (2009-2011). She also held several managerial/senior positions at SEB LU (as Vice-Dean for International Relations, Chair of Human Resources and Habilitation Committee, Chair of Academic Unit for Economics, Head of the joint EU-Tempus programme in Public Sector and Environmental Economics with the University of Sarajevo, etc.). Currently, she is head of Academic Assembly at SEB LU and head of Double Degree Graduate Programme in Business Administration, organised in cooperation with School of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo. She teaches several economic courses, including Energy Economics, at graduate level.
