In January and March 2026, the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, hosted Prof. Dr. Tomislav Galović from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, who participated in the postgraduate course New Business Creation and the undergraduate courses Entrepreneurship and Family Business, taught by Prof. Dr. Boštjan Antončič. The visit offered the students a valuable international insight into contemporary challenges and further enriched the pedagogical process with experiences from the wider international space.

Prof. Dr. Tomislav Galović presented the key highlights of the project to the students, focusing on international competitiveness, in which innovation, entrepreneurship, and the ability to operate in an international environment play a central role. He particularly emphasized that success requires an understanding of the global space, responsiveness to change, and developed competencies for cooperation across cultural and national borders.

As part of the visit, he presented the EFRI International Business Workshops, which aim to strengthen students’ and other participants' competencies. The workshops pay special attention to international negotiations and intercultural communication, areas that are indispensable for successful operation in the global business environment. Students thus gained insight into the possibilities of additional international integration and the importance of practical knowledge that complements academic education.

The visits were important not only from the perspective of teaching, but also from the perspective of further development of research cooperation. In Rijeka in March 2026, Prof. Dr. Mirjana Grčić Fabić, Prof. Dr. Dejan Miljenović, and Prof. Dr. Boštjan Antončič discussed further possibilities for cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship research. The discussions were focused on further connecting research interests, developing common content, and strengthening international academic connections. These visits round off 15 years of successful cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, and the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, in the field of teaching and researching entrepreneurship. This is a partnership that has proven over the years how important the connection between institutions is in the development of knowledge and competencies. Such visits strengthen the international openness of the study process and enable students to have direct contact with experiences that go beyond national frameworks and enrich their entrepreneurial thinking.
