Curriculum Vitae
Petra Došenović Bonča, PhD, is an associate professor at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her research fields are health economics and public economics. Her current research focuses on efficiency and performance of health care providers in Slovenia and on innovations as factors of efficiency and performance. She is currently a member of the Statistical Advisory Committee for Health at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the representative of the University of Ljubljana in the Project Committee supervising the improvement of the DRG system in Slovenia. Petra Došenović Bonča is also a member of The Health Council - the highest professional coordinating and advisory body to the Minister for Health in the field of health, health care and health insurance. She is also a member of the International Health Economics Association and The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research. In the 2013-2017 period, she was the coordinator of the international accreditation of business schools EQIUS at the School of Economics and Business. She has published several scientific contributions analysing and assessing the Slovenian health care system and policy initiatives related to this sector. She has co-authored a comprehensive textbook on health economics. She has also participated in reform efforts and has been involved in consultancy projects for hospitals in Slovenia. She has participated in the development of the first postgraduate degree programme in Health Economics and Management offered in Slovenia. Since 2017, she is the head of this programme and currently teaches courses Principles of health economics, Health systems and policies, Economic evaluation in health care and Health insurance. She is also active in the field of lifelong education in the field of health economics.
