Best Practices in Public Sector Management (ICPE)

Aims of the course

The goals of this course can be summarized in the following points:
- Introduction to public sector management and presentation of modern strengths and weaknesses of Slovenian public administration and strategies for further development of the European public sector;
- Public sector reform;
- General evaluation models. The case is the European model of public sector business excellence (model structure: TQM, CAF – criteria, examples, results);
- Human resources management in public administration (employments, tests, training, promotion, incentive system, sanctions) and modern approaches;
- The relationship between central and local government.
