International Management

Aims of the course

The course provides understanding of basic management issues that derive from the fact that most large and small businesses operate in an international context. For some countries (e.g., Slovenia), it is important to understand that successful internationalization of companies is connected to faster economic development. One of the more important topics dealt with in this course is how companies can enter foreign markets in a more strategic and long-term manner. After finishing the course and its requirements, students are able to:
- Apply tools for designing and carrying out an international strategy;
- Understand the problems faced by managers in an international environment;
- Study and develop alternative patterns of strategy and operation suitable for an international context.
