Kratek življenjepis
Assoc. Prof. David Bogataj, PhD, Senior research associate received Insurance Engineering B.Sc. Degree (1997) and Transportation Technology diploma in 2000, and M.Sc. Degree (Actuarial Science, 2001), all at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. During this period, he was developing several Slovenian Pension schemes (actuarial models and computer products, for private insurance companies and for the Pension and Disability Insurance Institute of Slovenia, as the member of RIUS research institute. Some of these products are still in power). After receiving M.Sc. diploma, to obtain a license to actuarial affairs, an European regulated profession in the field of actuarial mathematics: Qualified Actuary, he had to be employed as an actuary at insurance company at least three years. Therefore, he employed at VZAJEMNA mutual insurance company. After full employment in VZAJEMNA, he has become the Full member of the Slovenian Actuarial Society in 2011. He received the PhD Degree (Doctor of Law and Real Estate Management, title of the thesis: Nepremičnine v strukturi virov za zagotavljanje socialne varnosti starostnikov = Real estate in the structure of resources for providing social security for the older adults ) at European Faculty of Law, Slovenia in 2012. In 2015, he also received PhD on Quality Management at Faculty of Organizational Studies (title of the thesis: Model amortizacije človeških virov in kakovost življenja = Human resources depreciation model and quality of life). In the period 2016-2019 he was assistant professor responsible for course Maintenance Management (Master courses) at University of Padua. At New University, he was appointed as an assoc. prof. in Law and Real estate Management. He is teaching the courses: Project Management and Human resource management in undergraduate studies and Social infrastructure for graduate students. Since February 2020 he is also teaching Demographic and gerontology perspectives at graduate courses of Alma Mater Europaea, which is an international university based in the Austrian city of Salzburg, with campuses in several European cities. At University of Ljubljana, he started as the Teaching assistant of Actuarial statistics in 2001, later he was named Assistant professor of Logistics, in 2015, and has been appointed the Senior research associate in 2019, working on the topic of education and innovation management, focused especially to the age management. He is also Director of the Institute INRISK, which is the research institute financed directly by the Slovenian Research Agency, where he is leading one European and two national projects.
In 2012 he became the Elected representative of Slovenian Actuarial Association in the Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) in Brussels (GROUPE CONSULTATIF ACTUARIEL EUROPEEN): Member of the Pension Committee and there elected member of the Social Security Subcommittee (especially active in the tasks: Sustainability of pension benefits, Adequacy of Pension Benefits, Market Consistency), also representative of IORP Stress Force; the Climate Index Working Group and finally he has been elected for Head (Chair) of the Mortality Task Force of AAE in Brussels.
In 2019 he became the Elected Representative of the Slovenian Actuarial Association at the Health Committee of the International Actuarial Society. The works in the Mortality Task Force in AAE and in the Health Committee of the International Actuarial Society have become his essential occupation in Europe, where the topics on ageing workforce has become essential for his research and consulting papers preparing for the European Commission.
