Kratek življenjepis
Matevž Rašković, PhD is assistant professor of International business, Head of the Bologna-type Master's program in International Business in English, board member of Confucius Institute Ljubljana and visiting scholar at Shanghai University of International Business & Economics (SUIBE) in Shanghai, China. He is also the national representative in the China-CEECs 16 1 Think Tanks Network and Secretariat at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Institute of European Studies in Beijing. In 2010-2011, during his doctoral study, he was a visiting graduate fellow at Harvard University, FAS Sociology. His PhD focused on buyer-supplier relationships in multinational companies as a source of competitive advantage, in which he applied an economic sociology perspective to Bartlett and Ghoshal’s (1989) transnational typology. He is a visiting professor at ESCP Europe Business School in Berlin, where he teaches International Management at the Master of European Business program. He has also held visiting lecture appointments at City University Hong Kong and Shanghai Normal University, as well as held guest lectures on various China business topics at Lancaster University Management School in the UK, Dublin City University Business School in Ireland, University of Economics in Katowice Poland and Dokuz Eylül University Business School in Turkey. He is the course head of the undergraduate elective course called "How to do business with China" taught to international students in English at the FELU. He is the recipient of the 2013 University of Ljubljana President’s award for outstanding achievement of young faculty in research and teaching, the 2014 Emerald Publishing Highly Commended Award for a paper in the Multinational Business Review (Vol. 21, No. 2), the 2014 Outstanding Reviewer Award at the AIB-CEE chapter conference in Hungary and a recent recipient of the 2016-2017 Fulbright postdoc fellowship at Harvard University (FAS Sociology). His research focuses on the economic sociology of international business (MNEs, embeddedness, institutions), as well as comparative research of young adults in East Asia (China, Japan, Korea) and Central and Easter Europe. His China-related SSCI publications include: (1) a co-authored paper on comparing work values of future job market entrants in China and Slovenian in the Journal for East European Management Studies (Vol.20, No. 2) and a recently accepted paper in the (2) Journal of Business Research (forthcoming in 2016) on comparing consumer innovativeness and ethnocentrism of young-adult consumers between China and the Western Balkans. He has also published in the Journal of Business
