Join us for a lecture on Sustainable Human Resource Management. Welcome to all who are interested in what aspects of sustainability are addressed in Human Resource Management and how you can make your career sustainable.

Lectures on Sustainable Human Resource Management (HRM) are primarily organized for 2nd year students at the Human Resource Management Course, however, anybody with an interest on how sustainability translates into HRM activity and how they can incorporate sustainability in their career development is welcome.
Lectures will be divided into two parts.
- In the first part, the concept of sustainable HRM will be introduced alongside main challenges and possible solutions. The aim of this lecture is to raise awareness of how HRM can contribute to SDG.
- In the second part, our guest lecturer Lea Smrkolj will present her life story and the concept of sustainable career, as well competencies and behaviors that can help an individual to develop a sustainable career. The aim of this part is to give to participants a framework for understanding the concept of a sustainable career and for developing their career following the principles of sustainability.

Guest lecturer
Lea Smrkolj has obtained her Master’s degree at UL SEB in October 2023 with her thesis Competencies for Developing a Sustainable Career, for which she received the Slovenian Youth Council Award for master’s theses focusing on young.
In her thesis she presented a large research based on results of over 5000 responses to a questionnaire by young employees and with 68 interviews among managers regarding their understanding of the concept of sustainable careers, development of competencies and behaviors that support sustainable careers. Her life story makes her a true and passionate believer in the importance of a sustainable career for young joining the workforce.
