National Screening Program - Dora
The National Breast Cancer Screening Programme DORA is an organised population-based programme for the early detection of breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Nearly 1,600 women in Slovenia are diagnosed with the disease each year, most after the age of 50. The aim of the screening programme is to reduce breast cancer mortality among women in the target population by 25 to 30 percent.
National Screening Program - Zora
The ZORA national screening programme is a preventive initiative for detecting precancerous and early cancerous changes in the cervix. As cervical cancer develops slowly and takes several years to progress from precancerous changes to cancer, examining women every three years allows the vast majority of dangerous cervical changes to be detected and treated promptly.
