HyPro4ST Project Meeting and Final Conference in Palermo

Palermo, Italy – 14-16 May 2025 — The HyPro4ST – Sustainable Tourism Innovation Through Hybrid Project Management project concluded with a vibrant three-day event in Palermo, Italy, hosted by project partner CESIE. The gathering brought together educators, project partners, tourism professionals, local stakeholders, and students to celebrate the project's achievements and discuss its long-term impact on the tourism sector.
The University of Ljubljana was represented by the project team members Iana Bilynets, Klavdija Besednjak, and three top-performing participants of the HYPro4ST virtual training course: Marko Grgurič, Petra Marinko, and Nataša Mahkovič, who achieved the highest results among all learners from Slovenia.
Day 1: Final Project Meeting
The event began with the final meeting of all project partners, reviewing the outcomes of the three-year project and discussing strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of its key results.
Day 2: Work-Based Learning in Palermo
The second day featured a Work-Based Learning activity, starting with a visit to Moltivolti, an innovative co-working and social enterprise space in the heart of Palermo. Participants explored inclusive business models and community-based tourism practices. The group then visited MuST23 – the Museum of Sustainable Tourism, where they learned about responsible tourism, innovative storytelling and engaged with the legacy of the Addiopizzo anti-Mafia movement in Sicily.
Day 3: Final Conference
The event culminated in the HyPro4ST Final Conference, highlighting the project’s key outputs and engaging diverse stakeholders in a dialogue on the future of sustainable tourism and vocational education. Speakers included representatives from local authorities, academic institutions, and project partners, who emphasised the relevance of hybrid learning and the need for flexible, future-oriented training approaches in the tourism sector.
