Entrepreneurial ideas on the green: students for the sustainable development of footgolf

Students and their mentors, Marija Brodnjak and Prof. Dr. Boštjan Antončič, had an opportunity to took part in a dynamic gathering in Ptuj as part of the project Competencies for Supporting Entrepreneurship ("Problem-Based Student Learning in the Work Environment").
The core theme of the meeting was the challenge presented by the Slovenian Footgolf Association: how to effectively promote footgolf in Slovenia while incorporating the principles of the green transition and circular economy. But this was more than just a discussion—the participants headed to the course and experienced footgolf firsthand. They played on a highly dynamic and visually appealing course filled with greenery and water obstacles, which added unpredictability and excitement to the game. During the event, participants also met with local footgolf players, exchanged knowledge and insights, and gained a deeper understanding of the sport’s potential for future development. The event successfully bridged theory and practice, and entrepreneurial ideas are already being developed further, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and promoting sports for all generations.
