EMTM Graduation Ceremony and end of an era: celebrating the legacy of EMTM
The European Master in Tourism Management (EMTM) recently concluded its 18-year journey with a warm and spectacular celebration in Girona, marking the graduation of the 2023–2025 cohort — the last generation of the programme. Founded in 2007 as a joint initiative between the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), the University of Girona (UdG) and the University of Ljubljana (UL), the EMTM has since become a prestigious programme at the forefront of tourism education, emphasising sustainability and global perspectives.
Over the years, EMTM has provided more than 400 graduates from 84 countries with a comprehensive understanding of tourism development, sustainable management and the cultural dynamics of the industry.
The recent graduation ceremony was particularly significant as it marked both the celebration of the youngest cohort and the completion of the programme. Alumni from all over the world gathered in Girona to celebrate the legacy of the EMTM. This important event was also attended by Prof. Tanja Mihalič, who has led the programme since its inception, and Martina Sagir, who has managed the programme from 2017.
We wish all members of the EMTM family — alumni, students, professors and administrators — the best of luck in their future endeavours. May the connections forged through this programme continue to thrive and inspire.
