Guest Speaker: Jure Vajs
As part of the Organization & Management course the IMB students had the opportunity to engage with Mr Jure Vajs, HR professional at Lek d.d., a Sandoz company in Slovenia.
Mr Vajs delivered an in-depth presentation on how Lek implements strategic management in practice – from its growth and market positioning to building a long-term competitive advantage. Particular emphasis was placed on talent development, where the company follows a structured four-phase approach to employee growth while embedding integrity as a fundamental organizational value.
The presentation also highlighted Lek’s strategic investments, including the construction of a new biosimilars facility in Lendava – a €400 million investment featuring state-of-the-art technology, creating around 300 new jobs, and expected to be completed by 2026.
In his talk, Mr Vajs underlined how strategy, people, and culture are closely interconnected, illustrating how a leading pharmaceutical company successfully combines business growth with the development of future talent.
The session provided students with valuable insight into the connection between theory and real-world business practice.
