Adam Grant, one of the most influential thinkers of our time, a renowned organizational psychologist, professor at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and author of the international bestsellers Think Again, Originals, and Give and Take, has become a visiting professor at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. We celebrated his appointment at UL SEB with four different lectures for four different groups of listeners.
The morning discussion with the Slovenian and wider research community on the topic of Changing World: How Can Research Help? was a summary of Grant's research findings over the last decade. With a great deal of expertise, inspiration, and humor, author Adam Grant and his research colleague Miha Škerlavaj, who led the discussion, turned it into an unforgettable meeting full of concrete advice, questions, searching for the best solutions, and guidance for researchers on how to improve their research work and focus on content that will best help our ever-changing world.
Inspiration for young people: Adam Grant on finding your potential and role in the world
This was followed by a meeting with students in the packed Large hall. The topic of Adam Grant's lecture was Hidden Potential, and it was aimed primarily at young people who are discovering and searching for their talents, their strengths, and their role in the world. What does perseverance mean, how to recognize the right ideas and the right paths, who to turn to in the process of achieving your goals, who to trust, and how to constantly rethink your beliefs and decisions. The conversation with Adam Grant, which ended with thunderous applause, was led by Matej Černe and Maša Košak.
How to lead in today's world: Adam Grant and the Ljubljana MBA program on modern leadership
On this special day, students and alumni of the Ljubljana MBA program also visited UL SEB and listened to the latest findings in organizational psychology in the field of leadership: Modern Leadership That Works. The discussion was led by Robert Kaše, who, together with all MBA students, also followed Adam Grant to the final lecture, which was intended for the business community.
