IMB Students at the Hydrogem Ecosystem North Adriatic Conference 2025
We are proud to share that our IMB students, Petrisa Čanji Vouri and Jesus Amos Facundo, actively contributed to this year’s Hydrogen Ecosystem North Adriatic Conference, held in Nova Gorica.
This year’s programme placed a strong emphasis on the development of hydrogen valleys across Europe, highlighting successful approaches, institutional challenges, and opportunities for cross-border cooperation. The event also addressed the essential role of municipalities in shaping future hydrogen ecosystems and opened space for rich intergenerational dialogue, bringing together emerging experts and established professionals.
Petrisa and Amos presented their contribution to the monograph titled »Exploring the Growth Potential of Deep Tech and Other Emerging Technologies in Slovenia«, showcasing research chapters included in the publication. They presented the study Risk Typologies in Green Hydrogen Infrastructure Mapping Multi-level Risks Across Business Models in Early-stage Investment Cases. They also introduced From Demonstration to Innovation: Patent Activity in European Hydrogen Valleys, examining why Europe’s strong demonstration capacity has not yet translated into comparable patent activity. In addition, they presented The Velenje Hydrogen Pilot Case Study, highlighting regulatory, social, and investment challenges in transitioning a former coal region toward hydrogen-based solutions.
Across their presentation, they emphasised key policy takeaways—predictable regulation, long-term funding, streamlined IP protection, and early coordination—as well as business takeaways: early risk planning, cross-border collaboration, long-term vision, and shared learning as drivers of Europe’s hydrogen leadership.
In addition to their presentation, our students participated in a roundtable discussion together with 11 students from the United World College Adriatic, Duino, contributing to a thoughtful exchange on innovation, youth perspectives, and the future of hydrogen technologies in the North Adriatic region.
We congratulate Petrisa and Amos for representing the IMB Programme with excellence and for contributing valuable insight into one of today’s most critical technological transitions.
