Guest Speaker: Kruno Abramovič
We recently hosted Kruno Abramovič, CFO at GEN energija, d.o.o, a finance expert with extensive senior management experience who transitioned from the investment funds industry into the energy sector.
During his session, Kruno shared insights on financial leadership and strategic decision-making, highlighting key principles for effective decisions, long-term planning, and managing complex projects. He illustrated these points with practical examples, including his work at NLB, where he helped improve customer service by reducing client processing times, and his current involvement in the Slovenian energy sector, providing insights into the operation of the country’s nuclear reactor and plans for a second facility.
The discussion also covered Slovenia’s energy structure, electricity pricing and market dynamics, the impact of global events, competition and regulation, as well as career development in finance and energy. A central takeaway for students was Kruno’s emphasis on doing meaningful and interesting work, stressing that professional fulfillment comes from engaging in projects that align with one’s interests and values.
