Guest Lecture: Borut Jamnik
IMB recently hosted a guest lecture delivered by Borut Jamnik, President of the Management Board of SID Bank.
The lecture provided a policy-oriented insight into the role of development banks within the broader economic system. Particular emphasis was placed on their contribution to long-term economic growth through investments in both tangible and intangible capital, support for entrepreneurial finance, and the implementation of risk-sharing mechanisms. The presentation was distinguished by its strong integration of economic theory, public policy considerations, and institutional practice.
The discussion that followed was highly engaging, with students posing insightful questions regarding the future role of development banks, their cooperation with private financial institutions, and potential areas for collaboration. The lecture also marked the official introduction of this year’s final project, thereby laying a solid foundation for the final course segment scheduled to take place in September.
We sincerely thank Mr. Jamnik for his valuable contribution and for sharing his expertise with our students.
