Club Beta Gamma Sigma
The Beta Gamma Sigma is an honor society for the highest-achieving students and alumni of AACSB-accredited business schools.
About the Beta Gamma Sigma
The Greek letters that make up the name of the society symbolize honor, Bebaeos (Β), wisdom, Gnosis (Γ), and earnestness and sincerity, Spoude (Σ). The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to recognize academic excellence and to foster the personal and professional development of its members through networking and the creation of various opportunities.
Beta Gamma Sigma was founded in 1913 by three universities in the United States with the aim of recognizing the academic excellence of their top students and providing them with networking opportunities. Since 1921, membership has been limited exclusively to students of AACSB-accredited schools. In 2012, the School of Economics and Business established its local chapter, named the UL SEB BGS, becoming the first school in the region to offer its students the same opportunities enjoyed by top students at leading business schools worldwide.
How to Become a Beta Gamma Sigma Member?
Membership is lifelong and offers a range of benefits. Above all, it provides an opportunity for distinction, allowing members to stand out from the crowd. In the international environment, many employers give preference to Beta Gamma Sigma members in recruitment, as membership demonstrates academic excellence. Members also have the opportunity to participate in the scholarship programme and the Student Leadership Forum, and they are entitled to use the services of the BGS Career Center and take part in events within the BGS alumni network.
Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is by invitation only.
The selection of students to be invited to the UL SEB BGS takes place once a year, based on criteria adopted by the Senate of the School of Economics and Business in accordance with Beta Gamma Sigma guidelines. Membership certificates are awarded at a special ceremony, the Induction Ceremony.
