Application deadlines
Application deadlines for Slovenian citizens and citizens of EU member states
1st period:
- deadline for submission of eVŠ application form: 30 June 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have completed their studies in Slovenia): 15 July 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have completed their studies abroad - not in Slovenia): 30 June 2026
2nd period (if slots are still available after the first application period):
- deadline for submission of eVŠ application form: 28 August 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have completed their studies in Slovenia): 15 September 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have completed their studies abroad - not in Slovenia): 28 August 2026
3rd period (if slots are still available after the second application period):
- deadline for submission of eVŠ application form: 22 September 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have completed their studies in Slovenia): 22 September 2026
- deadline for submission of supporting documents (candidates who have already completed the recognition process in the first or second application period in 2026): 22 September 2026
Application deadlines for foreign citizens from countries that are not members of the European Union and Slovenians abroad
1st period:

The selection results for the 1st period will be published to candidates from 20 to 23 July 2026.
Accepted candidates will be invited to register electronically.
Mandatory interview with candidates from countries with a higher migration risk
Based on the Higher Education Act (ZViS‑1; Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 56/25; Article 13) higher education institutions must conduct a mandatory in-person interview with any foreign national who has applied for enrolment in higher education in the Republic of Slovenia and comes from a country classified as having a higher migration risk, as defined by the list of countries whose nationals are required to obtain a visa when crossing the external borders of the European Union, in accordance with the legislation governing the conditions and procedures for entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia.
This interview must take place before any further administrative processing of the candidate’s application.
How to apply
Candidates submit the application for recognition of foreign education together with the application for enrolment via the online eVŠ portal.
Candidates can apply for two study programmes (the programme of their first choice and a second one if they are not admitted to the first one).
What to submit
Graduates of the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business only need to submit the application form and the motivation letter.
Other candidates who have completed undergraduate studies in Slovenia are requested to attach the following documents to the application for enrolment on the eVŠ portal:

Copy of your Bachelor diploma or certificate of the graduation,

Copy of your transcript of records of your Bachelor study,

Motivation letter (approx. 500 words).
Procedure for recognition of prior education
Candidates who have completed undergraduate studies abroad (not in Slovenia) can enrol in the first year of the second cycle Master’s programme if they complete the procedure of recognition of foreign undergraduate education. The recognition procedure is part of the enrolment procedure. Candidates submit the application for recognition of foreign education together with the application for enrolment via the online eVŠ portal.
Candidates are requested to attach the following documents to the application for enrolment on the eVŠ portal:

Copy of your Bachelor diploma or certificate of the graduation,

Copy of your transcript of records of your Bachelor study,

Copy of an English or Slovene official translation of your diploma and transcript of records,

Motivation letter (approx. 500 words),

A short chronological description of your entire education (sample attached),

English language certificate*,
-
Copy of your passport (EU candidates can submit their identity card instead).
* The minimum required scores: TOEFL score of 79 (IBT), IELTS score of 6, Cambridge/Oxford: B2. Instead of the international certificate of proficiency in English language (such as TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, etc.), candidates can submit a certificate of participation in a student exchange programme in the English language (Erasmus exchange, Summer school etc.) or similar.
We will send a request for verification of the electronic versions of the documents to the issuing institution.

All applicants will be informed about the recognition of their previous education. In the case of a positive decision, they will take part in the selection procedure.
