Business Process Modelling

Cilji predmeta

The course aims at developing knowledge and skills related to business process modelling. It examines the design of business processes in organization from private and public sector. The course primarily focuses on the application of conceptual methods and software tools to analyze and transform business processes and improve their performance. Case studies will be used to illustrate the concepts. A practical business process modelling assignment will be set to develop skills in process modelling. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Understand why business process modelling is important and when should organization use it
- Select and use methods and tools for business process modelling
- Understand critical success factors in business process modelling

Vsebina predmeta

This course is taught over one semester and in 2007/08 will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to business process modelling
- Business process modelling methods and techniques
- Business process modelling tools
- Simulation modelling
- The selection of business process modelling methods, techniques and tools
- Case studies
