Alumni Talk: Matej Pregarc
We recently welcomed Matej Pregarc, an IMB alumnus currently working at Hilti, for an engaging guest lecture.
Matej offered valuable insights into Hilti’s business strategy, organisational culture, and international career opportunities, with a particular emphasis on internships and early career development. His contribution was especially meaningful because he spoke not only as a company representative, but as an alumnus who once sat in the same lecture halls as our current students. -
Fireside Chat: Understanding the Global Economic Landscape
The IMB Alumni hosted a fireside chat featuring two distinguished speakers whose work has profoundly shaped economic thought both globally and in Slovenia: Professor Jan Svejnar and Professor Janez Prašnikar. Professor Svejnar is the Richard N. Gardner Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University, with a long-standing academic career and extensive advisory experience with international institutions such as the World Bank, the EBRD, and numerous governments. He was joined by Professor Prašnikar, Professor Emeritus at the School of Economics and Business and founder of the IMB Programme, who is widely recognised as one of Slovenia’s leading economists and a pioneer of empirical economic research in the region.
