Aims of the course

The main aim of the course is to make participants familiar with dynamic evolution of international economic environment characterized by extensive global trade and financial flows, their institutional framework as well as their pitfalls and collateral consequences. The course is designed to combine the real world analysis with theoretical insights and institutional analysis. Participants will actively join the debate and have the opportunity to discuss possible redesign of the institutional framework. Further on, participants will be put into positions of a various players in international economic environment. Main focus of the course will be placed on institutional aspects as well as on practical application.

Course syllabus

The course focuses on understanding the role of evolutionary processes and the role of institutions in shaping international economic environment. The course consists of six major parts; four of them are of a more conceptual character, while the other two parts of the course address two specific macro-topics of high relevance for running business today in Europe.
