History and Philosophy of Sport

Aims of the course

- To inform students about the discussed topics of the course.
- To acquaint students with the study literature and enable them for its critical evaluation and professional use in their studies.
- To qualify students for the successful preparation of a written seminar paper about the selected topic.
- To qualify students for scientific/methodological consideration of professional issues in theory and practice.
- To develop the abilities and skills to communicate with each other.
- By knowledge of institutional development to recognize the tradition and heritage of sport culture.

Course syllabus

1. History of sport (overview of development of sport in international and national context, the role of sport in the society)
2. Philosophy of sport management (definition of philosophy of sport management; philosophy of sport as a bridge between practice and theory of sport; principles and characteristics of philosophy of sport; structure of philosophy of sport by addressing ontology of sport, teleology of sports, axiology of sport, ethics of sport, aesthetics of sport, essence and existence of sport, gnoseology and epistemology of sport, terminology of sport and kinantropology of sport; philosophy aspect of sport performance theory; expert sistems for development of competitive sport performance )
