The following topics are being addressed:- Optimal currency area theory
- Evolution of monetary and fiscal policy of the EU
- Economic governance of the EU prior to the crisis (Stability and Growth Pact)
- EU / euro are crisis and its implications on the integration’s economic governance
- Two segments of the post-crisis economic governance of the EU
- Drastically changed crisis prevention mechanism (European semester, “six pack”, “two pack”, “fiscal compact”, banking union
- Newly introduced crisis management mechanism (EFSF, ESM)
