The director of the Tames company, Robert Šegula, Mag., presented the development of a family business, the importance of management in a family environment, and the key business challenges in managing a diverse and development-oriented company to students of the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana.

Nejc Perme began his academic journey at the School of Economics and Business without a clear idea of where it would lead him. Today, he works at the Bank of Slovenia, where he focuses on analysing inflation in the euro area. His path was shaped by courses that gradually steered him towards the research side of economics, as well as by the persistence with which he developed his analytical skills. Already during his studies, he stood out for his outstanding academic performance, earning the University of Ljubljana’s award for academic excellence. His story illustrates how curiosity, discipline and an openness to new interests can lead to a well-defined professional direction.

The visit of Prof. Dr. Tomislav Galović from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, brought the importance of international competitiveness, innovation, and intercultural competencies closer to the students at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, while at the same time consolidating the long-standing cooperation between the two faculties.

The second event in the “From Saver to Investor” series highlighted the reasons for delaying investing (fear, lack of knowledge) and the importance of financial literacy. The speakers emphasized the impact of inflation, the accessibility of investing, and the advantages of a diversified portfolio.

At the 12th Italian Business Forum, an important contribution comes from research carried out within the IMB Programme. Students from the 32 Generation (2024/25) have been exploring the growth potential of Slovenia’s deep tech, green tech, biotech, and space tech ecosystems.

During the first semester, IMB students addressed real HR challenges faced by Hofer as part of the HRM course. To complement the project, Hofer invited the students to visit its logistics centre in Lukovica.
