The Third Issue of EBR in 2026 Has Been Published

The third issue of Economic and Business Review in 2026 brings contributions on Nigeria’s 2025 Tax Act in comparative perspective; the use of social media technologies and performance in B2B companies; the intention–behaviour gap and customer retention in mobile telecommunications; and the impact of social expectations and gender norms on women leaders’ marital and partner relationships and workplace outcomes.

The 21st Bled Strategic Forum, Slovenia's central foreign policy event, took place in Bled on 31 August and 1 September 2026. Held under the title The Power to Shape the Future, it brought together more than 150 speakers from over 70 countries, among them two heads of state, four prime ministers, seven foreign ministers and four European commissioners. The presence of six researchers from UL SEB in a programme of this calibre confirms that economics, business and the knowledge they generate are an indispensable part of the debate on the future of Europe.

Alumni story: Ula Kanduč

Having completed her master's degree at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Ula Kanduč is already preparing for the next chapter of her academic journey: a PhD in Beijing. A passionate trail runner, aspiring researcher, and founder behind a patented medical innovation, she has built her path by questioning assumptions and embracing challenges that others might avoid. From studying in Japan and learning Chinese to developing a healthcare solution inspired by her own marathon experience, Ula believes that growth begins where comfort ends. For her, the goal has never been to choose the harder path, but the more interesting one.

Joint summer school Vienna - Ljubljana - Sarajevo

This week, the School of Economics and Business is hosting the second module of the international joint summer school Vienna–Ljubljana–Sarajevo, focusing on the topic of the circular economy. The programme, organized within the CEEPUS programme, brings together 31 students from the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, WU Vienna, and the School of Economics, University of Sarajevo.

NIBES Celebrates 30 Years of International Cooperation

This year, the Network of International Business and Economic Schools (NIBES) celebrated the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Letter of Intent, through which partner institutions laid the foundation for the network in 1996. To mark the occasion, representatives of the partner institutions re-signed the Letter of Intent, reaffirming their commitment to the continued cooperation and development of the NIBES network.
