In the field of higher education he was Recurring Visiting Professor at the Central European University, Research Associate and Visiting Scholar at the School of Business, Indiana University, USA, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He is currently the member of Initial Accreditation Committee and European Advisory Committee of AACSB, member of EU Steering Committee of EFMD and member of the board of EIASM and European Advisory Committee. Dr. Mramor had an active role in the very successful Slovenian transition process, serving as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia (2002 - 2004), member of the council of the National Bank of Slovenia, member of the Admission Board of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Securities Market Agency of Slovenia, advisor to the Minister for Finance and member of the Strategic Economic Council of the Prime Minister of Slovenia. Currently he is a member of advisory board of President of Slovenia Dr. Danilo Turk.
Maja Makovec Brenčič is a PhD and her main research areas are internationalization of companies, international marketing, B2B and relationship marketing. She published in Journal of International Marketing, International Marketing Review, European Journal of Marketing; Industrial Marketing Management and other international journals. She is one of the leading marketing and international business academics in Slovenia. She also runs FELU’s International Business graduate programme and often consult to Slovenian international companies. She is also a vice president of the Quality Assurance Committee at University of Ljubljana, member of Quality Assurance Board at the FELU and the president of the Board of the NAKVIS – Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education of Slovenia.
Andreja Cirman, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, serving as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs since 2007, Academic Director of FELU MBA and Programme Director of Sustainability Academy. In her research work her main fields of expertise are housing, real estate and sustainability, reflected in a variety of published articles, contributions, research works and consultancy projects in Slovenia and abroad. She is a member of American Real Estate Society, Housing Council of the Republic of Slovenia and other professional organizations. She is also serving as a president and member of advisory boards in companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
Mojca Indihar Štemberger, PhD, has published over 100 articles in scientific journals, books and journals, especially in the field of business process management, e-commerce and decision support systems. At the same time she is active as a consultant or manager of many projects of business process changes in the Slovenian public and private sectors. She is a member of the programme committee of some Slovenian and international conferences.
Aljoša Valentinčič obtained his PhD from the University of Glasgow, UK. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Amsterdam and Lancaster University. He is a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the European Accounting Association. He was the chair of the organising committee of the EAA 2012 conference), the largest conference of researchers in the field of accounting, which was hosted by the FELU in May 2012. In cooperation with nine other universities, has acquired a European research project under the 6th European Framework Programme dedicated to economic consequences of adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards. He is also a member of the EFMD Doctoral Programmes committee. He publishes regularly in leading academic journals, including the European Accounting Review and PNAS.
Graduated from the FELU (1977). Held several positions in private and public sector as Division Head (Lesna Corporation), Secretary of the Board (SISEOT) and Head of the Department (Ministry of Economic Relations and Development). He was Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia dr. Janez Drnovšek for international economic affairs and member of negotiation team for Slovenia – EU Association Agreement. In the period 1996-2001 he was Counselor (economic affairs) and Head of Mission a.i. (2000) at the Slovenian Embassy in Washington, D.C., USA. Before joining FELU Mr. Smonig was Head of the Office of the Minister of Finance and Project Manager in Lek Pharmaceuticals, a Novartis company. Mr. Smonig was also Pew Fellow at SFS, Georgetown University, USA. Since 2008 he has been Secretary General of the FELU.
