EQUIS – EFMD Quality Improvement System
The University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business (the UL SEB), was awarded with the first EQUIS accreditation in 2006, and becoming the first school in South East Europe to be awarded with the EQUIS accreditation.
In 2018, the UL SEB has received the EQUIS accreditation for a period of five years.
"Every reaccreditation cycle starts as a reminder of the almost unimaginable progress we have made and the valuable lessons we have learned so far. It continues by revealing the future challenges we are yet to face. It then ends not only by clearly showing the way forward but by empowering us to stay on course and be brave enough to continue to grow from a regional to an internationally recognised business school. We are honoured to be an EQUIS accredited school and we are proud of our achievements that were made possible by dedicated staff and supporting partners."

EQUIS Accreditation
EQUIS (the European Quality Improvement System) is the accrediting body on the European Fundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of the best business schools in the world. The School can obtain five or three year EQUIS Accreditation.
EFMD is an international membership organization based in Brussels, Belgium. It has more than 780 member organisations from academia, business, public service and consultancy in 81 countries. EFMD is recognized globally as an accreditation body of quality in management education and has established accreditation services for business schools (EQUIS) and business school programmes (EPAS), corporate universities (CLIP), and technology-enhanced learning programmes (CEL).
EQUIS was created in 1997 by a mandate of EFMD’s member business schools and with the specific active support of a number of them among which were the top ones in EUROPE; Bocconi, HEC Paris, Aalto University School of Business, IESE, IMD, INSEAD, IE Business School, London Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, etc.
EQUIS is European in its inspiration and global in its scope, and provides an excellent framework for assessing quality in highly diverse institutional and cultural contexts.
