Modes of study

Full-time study

Full-time study programmes are held at the SEB LU (in case of adverse epidemiological conditions, it can also be online) in accordance with the academic calendar.

The academic year begins on October 1st and ends on September 30th. It is divided into two semesters: winter semester (October to January) and the summer semester (February to June). Lectures are from October 1st through the middle of January. The four week period following the end of lectures in the winter semester is the winter exam period. Summer semester courses begin in the middle of February and end in early June. The summer exam period follows the end of courses for the summer semester. Students may also sit for exams during the autumn exam period, which is from the end of August through the middle of September.
Note: Only full-time University Degree Programme in Business and Economics is provided in English language.

Part-time study

Part-time study is carried out in combination (partly in lecture halls, partly online) at the school’s headquarters.

Study programmes organized as part-time study are based on a special schedule that is designed to conduct courses sequentially, with the exam at the end. Courses are held in the afternoon and on Saturday. This method of study requires more independent work from students.

Note: Lectures for undergraduate part-time study are provided in Slovenian language.

Students can change their mode of study once during their undergraduate study period at the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business.
